You’re a part of our community even before classes start! We are delighted for you to join our program. This website serves as a guide for you, providing resources, information, and an opportunity to connect with your classmates before the fall.
Check the DSAN and JOGS events calendar for orientation events and workshops.
Activate your Georgetown email account as soon as possible. Until June 1st, we will use your personal and GU email. After June 1st, we will only use your GU email for communications.
Please contact the International Student (IS) New Student Advising Team with any questions about immigration policies, visas, etc.: internationalorientation@georgetown.edu
Begin the immigration document request process upon portal opening on February 2, 2026. Admitted students who plan to hold F-1 or J-1 status must access their NetID@georgetown.edu inbox to create their International Student and Scholar Portal and request Form I-20 or Form DS-2019.
The deadline for new student immigration document requests is 30 days before the program start date (PDF). OGS prioritizes the immigration document issuance of students from countries with historically high visa appointment wait times.
Information about required in-person international orientations will be announced by June 2026.
